MERLIN and MOBIUS

What is MERLIN?

MERLIN is a "cluster," a group of Missouri academic libraries within the MOBIUS Library Consortium. The MERLIN Union Catalog includes the collections of the University of Missouri - Columbia Libraries, University of Missouri - Columbia Law Library, University of Missouri - Kansas City Libraries, University of Missouri - Kansas City Law Library, Missouri University of Science and Technology Library, and the University of Missouri - St. Louis Libraries.

What is MOBIUS?

MOBIUS is made up of 11 clusters, all groups of libraries similar to MERLIN. It is a consortium of over 50 Missouri academic libraries and the Missouri State Library. A diagram showing the libraries involved and their locations is available here.

How do I get to the MOBIUS Union Catalog?

You can search through the MERLIN web catalog and then select the "MOBIUS union catalog" button to search for the item in MOBIUS. Alternatively, the MOBIUS catalog can be accessed directly here .

How long may I keep MOBIUS books?

Books requested through MOBIUS are loaned for 21 days. You can renew items only twice.

Books may be recalled at any time by the owning library. Please return books promptly as the success of MOBIUS depends upon the cooperation of all participants at all institutions.

How many books may I borrow?

Faculty, graduate students and staff may have a maximum of 20 MOBIUS books requested or checked out at any time. Undergraduate students may have a maximum of 10 MOBIUS books requested or checked out at any time.
