Please make sure that you have the latest versions of all software.

1. Mac OS X 10.4.8+ (use "software update" if you have Mac OS X 10.4.x installed to update)
2. If looking to use SciFinder, please ensure you have downloaded SciFinder Scholar 2006 (this can be acquired at the link below if you do not have the latest version

Open "Internet Connect" from your Applications Folder.

With the box that appears, choose VPN at the top and then, when given the choice, choose (PPTP).  Next fill in vpn.mst.edu as the server address, and then enter your account name and password (your standard Missouri S&T log/pass as you would use to log into your machine on campus) as shown below.

Note how here I have also saved this configuration as "Missouri S&T".

Click "Connect".

If the status shows a Missouri S&T IP address (131.151.x.x) as shown below... 

Then you are connected to campus.  You may now launch SciFinder Scholar 2006 or use the library catalog and/or databases and it should connect as it would as if you were on campus.
