Celebrating 50 years of research, scholarship, innovation, and collaboration.

More than 50 years of service

The Curtis Laws Wilson Library first opened its doors in 1968. Before this, the library was housed in many different buildings around campus, including in both Parker Hall and the Rolla Building. Despite the location changes over the years, the campus library has been serving the university community since 1871.

Since then, the university library has been an innovative force for libraries and research everywhere. The Missouri S&T Library was one of the first libraries to implement an online catalog, transform the library into a library commons, and house our very own certified online repository to showcase the works and research of the university.

Here's to 50 years (and many more!) of the Curtis Laws Wilon Library and its dedication to quality service and pursuit of research, innovation, and scholarship.

Golden Week Events

Thank you Thursday: Coffee & Donuts

50 years is quite the milestone, but we could not have gotten there without you! To thank the campus for over 50 years of support and patronage, we are throwing it back to the beloved library tradition of serving free donuts and coffee in the library during evening study hours.

From 8 PM to 10 PM (or until we run out) on Thursday, October 25, we will be serving free donuts from Donut King and coffee from Giddy Goats at the library front desk. Everything is first come, first serve.

Take a study break and celebrate with us! Grab some coffee and a donut before you study all night in our now 24-hour accessible library.

The Golden Party

Celebrate 50 years of the Curtis Laws Wilson Library at our Golden Anniversary Block Party on Friday, October 26 from 12 pm to 2 pm.

The event kicks off at noon with remarks from Chancellor Maples. Following his remarks, the tie dye station by KMNR will be open. First 100 people to the event will get a free Golden Library Celebration shirt.

There will be free food, swag, music, and much more! You won’t want to miss it. This will be a celebration for the books!
